Mar. 26th, 2014 09:40 amMarch came in like a lion, and it seems to be going out like a lion as well. It snowed overnight - just a little, maybe a half inch in the places where it hasn't blown away - but that's enough. It's also cold. I have a great coat; my scarf, hat, mittens and boots are warm; I failed to check the temps before leaving the house and the radio said 19, so I didn't put warm tights on under my jeans. My face, the lobes of my ears where the hat didn't cover, and my legs completely froze. Someone at work muttered about how a windchill of 18 was too cold. It felt so much colder than that to me, so I checked weather.com and sure enough the windchill is actually 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Another day in which I successfully defeated the urge to call off sick and stay in bed, another day in which I got kicked in the teeth for my efforts.
Screw all this. I've decided the best way to prepare for Dragon Con is to completely submerge myself in Doctor Who for the next five months. I'll be hanging by the pool in the TARDIS if you need me.
