A lovely birthday!
Mar. 6th, 2015 09:43 pmI had my stress test first thing this morning and it was very reassuring. There doesn't actually appear to be anything wrong with me. The cardiologist thinks it's probably just a combination of stress, reflux, conditioning (maybe I tried a little too hard to get back to running full steam ahead) and the extra cold weather we've been having (which was definitely adding to the achy chest feeling). All of which means the achy chest feeling will probably continue, at least until it warms up, but there's nothing wrong. Yay!
My friend D picked me up from the hospital afterwards, with her two little ones in tow (almost five years, and 20 months). We went to the Carnegie Natural History Museum, looked at the dinosaurs, the polar exhibit, and the Native American exhibit. D's older son was adorable. He showed me all around his favorite parts of the exhibits and we had a lot of interesting conversation. I was also able to manage at least a little bit of interesting conversation with D, lol. We had lunch at the museum cafe, and D bought me a birthday Coconut Mousse dessert, which was pretty spectacularly good.
I came home long enough to relax for a couple of hours before
ani_no_mouse came down from Grove City to take me out for birthday dinner. We went to Chaya for sushi, and I sternly resisted stopping at the bakery next door for dessert.
To add to the nice day, temps soared all the way up to 23F this afternoon, and it was a bright, sunny day. Of course, the morning started out in negative temps, which is by far the coldest my birthday has ever been, according to both memory and the record books.
And now I'm home, warm and snug, all wrapped up in a fleecy blanket, watching some tv and waiting for the late night Pens game to start. All is well, except in the minds of the cats, who think that I should have fed them already.
