Meeshie's the name, Freeze Tag's the game
Jun. 27th, 2006 07:58 pmOh yeah, I had fun this afternoon. It finally stopped raining long enough to take the kids out to the playground. In the afternoons our group(4-5's) combines with the school age kids, several of whom are old alumni of my toddler room, as well as babysittees. Most of them are still feeling pretty shy around me if they even remember me at all - they say they don't, but they might have some memories that they just don't really connect with me.
Anyway, it turns out that freeze tag is a really good way to break that ice. They play it every afternoon, it seems, and today I wormed my way into the game. It started out just me and my kids but a couple of the older kids joined in and pretty soon I was being chased around the playground by about ten little kids, all of us laughing and giggling so hard we could barely run.
Even though they don't remember me, it was so much fun to run around and play with them. It makes the pulled muscle, or strain or whatever I did that has me completely hobbled, totally worth it. *grins*
