Oct. 23rd, 2006 04:41 pmI am celebrating today, people. Although I've received no official notification, it seems I've won my student appeal. This means I get charged in-state tuition rather than out-of-state tuition. It makes a huge difference and means I don't have to drop out of school next semester. Yay! *does a happy dance*
Drat, it's gone all cold out there. 37 F with a wind chill of 29. There's snowflakes drifting around out there, man, and I have to go back out to my evening class. *sigh* I really need to buy myself a pair of lightweight gloves, because all I have right now are heavy duty arctic things.

Date: 2006-10-23 11:24 pm (UTC)Sorry about the chilliness. If it makes you feel anything, we are experiencing a similar chill in Mississippi! I'm sitting here with a sweater and sweatershirt and my polarfleece cap on right now.

Date: 2006-10-23 11:25 pm (UTC)I really need to get some yarn and make you the scarf I've been pondering making for you. If I can find a decent yarn at a decent price, I might be able to also make a matching hat. Do you wear wools and natural fibers okay? I prefer them, as they are warmer, and give you less winter-static hair!

Date: 2006-10-24 03:43 pm (UTC)It's been in the low 30's at night the last few days, and we had a few snowflakes one evening. As I traveled thru Buffalo while they were under 2 feet of snow, it didn't really register with me as any big deal when we had a bit. But you're right, it's too early for that kind of nonsense yet! (Wait til after T-giving, tho, and I'll get as excited about it as a little kid)

Date: 2006-10-25 12:34 am (UTC)I'm not keen on winter starting any earlier than it absolutely has to, so snowflakes in October don't please me much, but a few isolated snowflakes is far, far better than that 2 ft in Buffalo.
