Oct. 7th, 2004 08:40 pmMy brain is currently leaking out of my eyeballs! This is what I get for trying to get caught up on the Lost-tv forum. Holy cow! There are some interesting posts over there, but I have to say, I don't think I'll be posting very often. There's one person in particular who keeps jumping on everyone, telling them they need to go back and read all the posts on the board before joining in the conversation, because these things (whatever the poor innocent said) have all been gone over two or three times in other threads. Ouch! Like I have time to go back over and read everything everyone has written on this board since last March.
I've spent most of the evening reading this thread, which connects Lost with the Philadelphia Experiment. Very interesting stuff, but it seems a bit far-fetched to me. Maybe I'm just not scientifically oriented enough, but it seems like they are trying to find the very most difficult and complex solution for everything that is going on. Rips in the time/space fabric, etc. Alternate dimensions and time travel and so on. Lindeloff insisted that everything on the island is actually possible and has a rational, scientific or pseudo-scientific reasoning behind it, and I don't think he was talking about Star Trek science.
So, thanks to
elenar I did get to see yesterday's episode. So much good stuff going on. I was glad to see that the show was able to thoroughly hold my interest despite the fact that there was very little Charlie in it, lol. Although the few lines he did have were priceless, like the quip about men being useless creatures, while nearly falling over, dragging the heavy luggage around.
Jack may not want to know what Kate's crime was, but I sure do. I'm a very curious girl, I am. Sawyer is going to crash badly one of these days and it's not gonna be pretty when it happens. That man is wound tighter than a *insert something tightly wound here* and after trying to give the marshall the coup de grace and failing miserably, he's just going to get worse. And it will be interesting to see how Jack responds to having done the deed, after indignantly claiming that he wasn't a murderer.
I'm equally worried about Hurley. That poor dude is trying so hard to keep positive and believe good about everyone, but he's really having a tough time dealing with what he is learning about his fellow survivors. I thought he was going to puke when he saw Kate with the gun, poor guy. Still, he's trying and that's more than some of them are doing.
Sayid seems to be shaping up into a natural leader of the group. He knows how to divide responsibility and get people to work as a team, and he has managed to not just let loose and kill Sawyer, although I'm sure he's tempted. I liked that enigmatic look that passed between the two when Sayid tossed that apple to Sawyer.
I think I like Locke. He's a strange character but he appeals to me. I'm curious about his back story and his secret. What was his miracle?
So many, many questions! And not a single answer, at this time. I'll just have to keep tuning in on Wednesdays to gather more clues.

Date: 2004-10-08 08:05 pm (UTC)I completely agree with you that there was something more between Kate and the Marshall. I definitely got the sense, during the flashbacks, that he knew her before he arrested her, that there was some bad personal history involved.
I'm really intrigued by Locke. I think he is one of the most interesting characters on the show. I think there's a lot more going on inside him, than anyone wants to give him credit for. I think he's happy for the chance to start over, he seems to feel almost as though the crash was a good thing for him, a cleansing sort of thing. I'm really eager to learn more about his backstory.
And poor Jack. So determined to save a man who does not have any chance for survival, and then forced to kill him because of someone else's botched attempt. (Even I know you should aim for the head!)
Well, enough incoherent rambling for one night. I'm a little on the woozy side after a long day of work followed by five hours of babysitting. TTT was on and I fell asleep! Missed all the good Merry and Pippin moments, terrible shame.
