Alright, I had lots of thoughts on yesterday's episode of Lost running through my head last night. Now let's see if I can remember any of them, lol.

Jack is clearly feeling the consequences of having killed the U.S. Marshall last week. He was moody and grumpy all episode, trying to back off of the leadership role he'd assumed in the first days. Then, after being told by Rose that he had such a good soul, so nice and caring, etc., he starts having visions of a man in a suit, standing in the distance. My theory on the hallucinations is that Jack is seeing himself. The man he thought he was. He feels lost, morally and emotionally, and is trying to find himself again, and so he ends up chasing himself.

Locke is swiftly becoming one of the most interesting characters on the island. We have a better understanding of what his miracle is, now. His miracle is actually two-fold. First and primarily, somehow the crash gave him back the use of his legs. I'm wondering how long he was in the wheelchair, that his leg muscles hadn't atrophied past the point of being very useful. He was able to get up and run within minutes, which means either poor scripting or a fairly short time spent in that chair, I would think. (although maybe physical therapy on the legs kept the muscle strength up even while the legs were useless - I don't know much about that). The second miracle is the chance to finally have an adventure, put himself to the test. I think he doesn't mind leaving his old life behind and having to hunt and gather and fend for himself here on the island.

I loved Sayid's little hissy fit when Kate brought the broken receiver thingy back to him. It was just the right amount of frustration and self-pity without going overboard or being to apologetic in nature.

Once again, Jack is forced to save Charlie's ass, this time pulling him out of the path of the boars. I wonder if this is going to be an ongoing motif. Charlie falls down and Jack picks him up. (I see slash...)

I really, really loved watching Hurley and Charlie spear fishing (worlds collide -- Last weekend I wrote Merry doing spear fishing in the newest chapter of 'Courage' - Merry's a lot better at it than Charlie, I must say, lol). It looks like Charlie is just about out of drugs. My guess is that next week he'll be miserable, and the week after is when we'll really start to see him fall apart.

I'm making an effort to not walk blindly into any more spoilers for upcoming episodes. Unfortunately, that's hard to do, because all the interviews they do with different folks seem to include little spoilery bits that aren't properly marked. So far, I haven't come across anything too big, but I knew about the wild boars (apparently the real boars couldn't be bothered to chase the actors so they ended up using cgi for that scene).

The memorial was a touching, if slightly awkward moment. It was appropriate to acknowledge the people who died, but then they are getting their info about these people off their driver's licenses and passports and ticket stubs. "She wore corrective lenses and she was an organ donor - or she would have been, anyway."

Another good episode, leaving me counting the days until next Wednesday.

A small side note: If anyone is waiting for more 'Courage', it has been temporarily put on hold while I try to figure out how to get the beast back on track. It has gone sadly awry somewhere and it's going to be the weekend at the earliest before I can sit down and wrestle it back to where it should be. I apologize for the delay.
