Well, here it is, 2 AM. And I'm awake. Yep. The housemate came home at midnight, with the new boyfriend and they've been chatting away (amongst other things) for two hours now. I was almost asleep when they came in. I am nowhere near sleep now. I have to babysit in six and a half hours. Imagine the love I'm feeling at the moment.

I don't mind being up late so much. It's just that it wasn't my choice, and the fact that I had to get up early the next morning made it so much worse. Things continued to go in the same vein for a while yesterday. I got to the house where I was babysitting and the first thing I was told as I walked in the door was "K just threw up." K being one of the two children I was watching. Luckily she wasn't really sick, just gagged on something, but it just really added to the joy of the day, lol.

I managed to have a very calm conversation with my housemate and she promised that next time, she would remind her boyfriend to be more quiet (he started out using a fairly soft voice but as the night grew later, he grew louder).

I cannot reasonably ask her to not bring him in, late at night, because there may be a time when I want to do the same thing, lol. But in the meantime, I would like to be able to get some sleep at night.

Ah, time to invest in some foam earplugs from the drugstore. I use them at least 2-3 nights every week.

Yes, I've been thinking I'll have to invest in some earplugs. Maybe that way I won't hear her alarm at six in the morning, either (she has to be at work much earlier than I do). Thank you for your wishes for a better night's sleep. I slept like a log last night and managed an almost unheard of nine hours of sleep. It was wonderful!
