I think I am, just today, responsible for the death of an entire forest. I feel very ashamed, but I cannot read all of these reports on the computer, so I must print them out. The stack of papers, printed on both sides, is now more than an inch thick.

Okay, time to go get coffee and a fastnacht and maybe go read some of this stuff I just printed out.

Yes, ma'am! Luckily they have the trash all sorted into recyclables and non-recyclables at school because they sure don't here (at my crappo apartment). I'll probably end up hanging on to a lot of the stuff for a while though.

YES! Hang on to that stuff! I threw away most of my CD/CC stuff when I moved to Texas and boy was I sorry. It was a lot of paper the first time I made copies of it all, and another lot of paper when I had to look up and recopy the same articles for my Ph.D.!

I don't even want to imagine the stack of papers I'd have if I'd printed one-sided. Of course, then I'd be able to take the paper in to work when I was done with it and donate it as scrap paper for the kids to use for drawing.

I feel like that every time I print out a journal article. I just can't read them on the computer, it gives me a headache. But I always feel guilty for printing stuff out. :/

Ah yes, academia is so, so rough on trees! Perhaps my printer hasn't really died, but is committing civil disobedience to protest the vast number of trees I killed when printing out the readings for my grad class!
