So, on the up side, I'm witnessing a lovely, rosy pink dawn. On the down side, I'm witnessing dawn.

9 AM class + Monday morning + end of spring break + daylight savings = comatose me.

I got a cold on Saturday. Well, I got a sore throat on Saturday. Literally, one minute I was fine and the next minute I had a sore throat. They usually hit over night or creep up on me unawares but this one announced itself clearly. Sort of like your computer pinging to tell you 'you've got mail', only my body pinging me to say, you've got a cold.

Oh, do I hear you.

I think I'm going to go chug another mug of black tea.

Hey, I was looking at the AES grad plus loans and I didn't see anywhere a listing of eligible programs within Pitt. Where did you see that?

That's exactly how it hit me too...I hope yours is over quickly and painlessly!

It hasn't got too bad so far, the sore throat is already gone, now it's just a runny nose, etc. I'm hoping it doesn't go any farther than that.

Daylight Savings always is good for havoc. I woke up and wondered why it was so dark.

Hope you feel better soon!

Plus, they bumped it up several weeks this year, so I am just not ready for it at all. I really don't understand the need for it - for all the electricity that will be saved in the evenings, there will be more used by people in the mornings, so I don't really see how it's supposed to benefit anyone.

Will do! I've got a Chai Tea Latte from Panera right now. Probably not exactly what you meant, but it's yummy and makes my spirit happier. :)

Chai is very good for you when you have a cold. All those spices actually do good things for the body! ;-) It's all about the indulgences also being good for you. Chai, cocolate....

Sadly, the Chai did not sit very well. It would have been much better if it had been just straight up black chai tea, instead of the premixed latte stuff - very yummy, but still, it left me feeling pretty gross all afternoon. :(

Now I'm getting ready to take some Nyquil and pass out for a few hours.

Bummer! To all of the miseries you've mentioned: end of spring break, end of weekend, beginning of Daylight Savings (i.e., Sleep Non-Savings) time, but most of all the onset of a cold. Life truly, truly, truly is not fair! So, please baby yourself as much as possible. Get some ZInc lozenges (Cold-eeze) if you can - if you take them early on they do seem to shorten the duration of a cold - and get well soon!

Well, it's unfortunate as far as timing goes because last week I could have really babied myself (actually did, to a fair amount) but now that I'm back to school, there's only so much of that I can do. And I'm pretty clearly going to be sleep deprived for a while, what with the clock change. I slept in yesterday and then had to force myself to go to bed at midnight, and couldn't really sleep until at least well after one. Tonight probably won't be any better.

sorry you're feeling poorly. Me and the girls send you lots of rest and hugs and slobbers.

Thanks for the hugs and slobbers. I'm just now getting ready to take some Nyquil and crawl into bed. I'm sure I'll feel much better tomorrow.

I hope you're cold is very short-lived and you are feeling much better by now!

Cold-eeze really do help if you start them right away. They really leave a metallic aftertaste though, so be ready with lots of honeyed tea to chase it!

I'm gonna take a pass on the Cold-eeze stuff. I really can't stomach stuff like that. But I'm taking some Nyquil now and crawling off to bed, so I'm sure I'll feel much better in the morning. :)
