Ah, Halloween! It was a great bonfire party, although the bonfire went out almost immediately. I saw
pip_brandygin's post about her bonfire party and thought it sounded pretty similar to my experience tonight. We're at a great old victorian house out in the country and there are woods, ponds and marshes all around.
eve11's sister does LARPing (live action role playing) and so her friends are amazingly creative when it comes to costumes. There was an X-men contingent, a crew of Egyptian gods and goddesses (with papier mache masks), John Crichton (poor guy is currently suffering from a severe case of Sebacean heat dilirium), evil Willow, Harry Potter, a Jedi Knight, Servo and Crow (MST3K) and many, many more. Very creative people.
I particularly liked Ice Man. He had dry ice in the lining of his jacket and in his pockets, which he used to great effect all evening. When he wasn't using it to blow up soda bottles, he was slipping it into his drinks to create an interesting effect. Apparently dry ice mixes well with water, not so much with vodka, and really not well at all with beer.
Now we are relaxing and watching Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It's been a continuing motif of the weekend. I've never watched it before and I'm totally hooked. It is the funniest stuff!
