D'oh!

Well, I knew I had to do schoolwork tonight, but I intended to get it done at home. So I left work (early because of the snow, yay), got home by six-thirty, ate and settled in to work on the computer.

Wouldn't you know it, I couldn't log on to the vpn to save my life. I don't know if it's the new health checker they've installed, or my computer being funky tonight, or the vpn network being funky tonight, or what but there was just no joy.

By then, it was already seven o'clock, I hadn't even started the assignment I needed to turn in tonight and I had no idea how long it would take to do. And now, I needed to catch a bus into Oakland to go to the Library computer lab. Oh, joy!

Did I mention it's cold and snowing and gross out? Did I mention I'd already changed into comfy clothes (i.e. things I don't usually wear in public) and had no time to change back?

Anyway, I got here, did the assignment. It only took an hour or so, which leaves me wondering exactly how wrong I did it, and now I'm just killing time until the bus gets here, in about fifteen minutes. Time to go home and enjoy an hour or two of relaxation before getting started on all the rest of the things I have to do this weekend.

FWIW, it was running mad mad slow when I was working at Hillman this afternoon . . .

It was running slow again today (I logged on from work), but I think the problem is something involved with the new health checker they've set up. A file (common.zip) wouldn't load on my computer properly and I think that's what the mess up was. So now I know that if there's work to do that needs to be done through the vpn, I just need to go into campus to do it.

Ugh. That sucks!

One of the other girls in class was feeling the same way - it didn't take her all that long and she was stressed by it. Oh well, we'll all find out in a few weeks.

I spent far too much of my weekend enjoying relaxation time and now I'm having to hustle to make up for it, but that seems to be my modus operandi so I can't bring myself to feel too stressed about it anymore.
