Cat woes

I'm a bit worried about Thor. He's been doing a weird thing with his jaw for a week or two, where it kind of clacks and judders after he's eaten - like it gets stuck and he has to really work to close it. But earlier in the weekend it looked like it was getting better. And now today he can't seem to close his mouth all the way, he can't eat solid food without gagging on it (probably can't chew it properly) and he's constantly drooling. The poor guy's a little discombobulated about the whole thing. I don't have a local vet, but I'll be calling around in the morning to see if I can get an appointment. If not, I've made arrangements with a friend to take him to the emergency clinic tomorrow afternoon (it's outside of town and not convenient, but there's nothing closer). This is one of those times when not having a car is a real problem.

Maybe it is a bad tooth. I know I have had several of my cats with tooth problems. It caused our cat, Spot to drool and she had a place on her lower gum that looked as if it were a scab. Turned out to be a bad tooth. Expensive but not serious. Anyway, I hope Thor is ok.

I'm thinking it might be a tooth. I looked in his mouth and there's a hole in his gum right over one of the incisors. I don't think that's supposed to be there. :(

Yeah, the drool is thrilling me. 'Specially since he likes to sleep on my pillow. It took a little work last night to keep him at the foot of the bed on the one blanket he'd already drooled on all day.

That sounds worrisome, but hopefully you'll be able to get him to the vet and patched up in no time. Lovely picture of Thor, by the way. Minette and Gel send kitty kisses to speed his recovery!
