If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else. This is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s). Well, I cannot guarantee that my selections are interesting or intriguing, but here they are.
This is from an unfinished fic under the working title of 'Strider's Revenge.' “Mr. Merry and Mr. Pippin seem comfortable enough sleeping upstairs, but Mr. Frodo said it reminded him too much of....things.... he’d rather not be reminded of.”
And here's a snippet from chapter seventeen of 'Courage.' “Now,” he said, pointing his finger in his best older cousin manner, “take a nice long nap and I’ll see you when I get back from whatever it is I’m doing this afternoon.”
This is from an unfinished, untitled fic languishing in my bunny file. Everyone in their circle knew that Fatty was hopelessly in love with Arabella Took who, so it was reported, was hopelessly in love with Merimas Brandybuck.
And one more untitled, unfinished fic buried deep in the bunny file. They were something other than what a hobbit normally is, and yet they combined this something new with a joyful commitment to all the things hobbits hold dear, partaking of good, plentiful food, drinking beer with friends, and reveling in the pleasures, small and large, of the Shire.
