Ugh! I did nothing yesterday, made no progress on the costume front at all. It will never get done.

Okay, I got up early to work on this blasted thing, better go and do some actual work.

I didn't get to bed until a little after midnight last night. I got all my pieces cut out but nothing actually pieced together yet. Still, progress. Progress is good.

Masks are completely dry now, they shrunk a little which we expected, but they still seem to fit. I found that can of naphtha, so we can experiment with creating blending edges. I'm wondering if I should pick up some acrylic paints though, for the basic details. I don't have any experience with the latex paint, and it's kind of old so I'm afraid it might peel. Well, we'll see how it goes, I suppose.

Acrylic paints might be good. We don't want to go to all this work and then shoot ourselves in the foot with peeling paint. :D

I did manage to get the collar pieced together this morning, so I'm feeling less 'lose at life' than I was.

I know your deadline for having the costume finished is fast approaching, but try to remember that the costuming is what you do for fun! Hope things go well today!

I do really enjoy the costuming, but the crunch time is upon us and I'm already tired, before we even go. *sigh* It's when there are deadlines that must be met that I get cranky, even on hobby, just for fun projects.

One of the girls that I work with here at CHCC is going to be taking care of the critters while I'm gone. I hope - she was supposed to come over last night to meet them and see where everything is and she didn't show. Not confidence inspiring.

Right. *breathes deep* It's all good - I got the collar mostly pieced together this morning and the rest of it is pretty straightforward, so if I do nothing but sew for the next three days, I should get it all done (unless I get to use a eve11's sewing machine, in which case I could be done tonight).
