Lots of new shows starting this week and next, as well as the start up of old favorites. I never seem to catch the good ones right at the beginning, so I decided to check out some of tonights offerings.

Chuck: Okay, Adam Baldwin is why I checked this one out. I really like the main character, Chuck. But the show itself is worse than iffy. It can't decide if it wants to be an absurd comedy, sci fi or some sort of spy thriller. At the moment it's trying to be all three, without much success. I don't know if I'll watch the show again.

Up next, Heroes - I've waffled all summer long over whether I'd watch it again, and I'm still unconvinced, but I'm bored, so I'll watch.

Heroes: Okay, I can see that Monday nights are a lost cause. Heroes still leaves me every bit as cold as always. And now, after the first ten minutes of Journeyman, I'm done.

Tomorrow: Bones and House. Maybe not the shows I'm most looking forward to this fall, but I know I like them, at least.

I didn't know Adam Baldwin was in Chuck. I would have made more of an effort to watch otherwise. So not worth trying, or yes?

It depends, I suppose. It had its moments last night. Action/adventure spy thriller seen through the lens of nerd wish-fulfillment. But the guy who plays Chuck does a really good job of keeping the character grounded in some sort of reality, and Adam Baldwin is always good for a second look. :D
