It's a rainy morning. Although I haven't poked my head out yet, it sounds like a steady, gentle, soaking kind of rain. The kind that makes me want to stay home and be lazy (not that that's any different than every other day of the week).

I really, really loved Supernatural last night. I wouldn't want too many episodes like this, with the overt comedy, but so far Supernatural has done a nice job of providing just one or two episodes per season that make me roll on the floor. Hell House, with the prank war, was sort of the warm-up. I can't watch Tall Tales without laughing out loud (I tried, too - I was watching it on headphones at night, when my mom was visiting and she must have thought I was going a little crazy). I think I liked this one even better. Unlucky Sam was eerily reminiscent of every four-year-old I've ever known. "I lost my shoe," just cracked me up, but it was so cute too, he looked like so forlorn, like he'd lost his favorite stuffed bunny instead. I expected him to start sucking his thumb at any moment. Dean the Babysitter was pretty entertaining (and made the episode good, by not turning into a clown himself), picking Sam up when he fell down (ripped jeans and bloody knees cemented the 4 yr old thing), digging Sam's shoe out of the sewer (you know he did, even if they didn't show it), telling him to stay in the hotel (don't move, don't even scratch your nose). Not an ideal babysitting technique, but certainly one that their father employed often enough that it's not surprising Dean pulled it out when the dangerous stuff started looming. And not even a little surprising that it didn't really work well. The limp!Sam people are probably still exploding with squee over this episode, what with him knocking himself out and all.

I liked Bella. She's a cool cucumber, in the know but only interested in her own profit. Self-centered, going to Hell but enjoying the trip. It's not so much that she's the perfect match for Dean, as she is Dean. Gordon's motives are so pure. Sam is evil and working to destroy the world. Therefore, Sam Winchester Must Die. You could hear the capitals as he spoke. The other hunter, whose name I didn't really catch, was just scary (very appropriately so, considering the episode). "Don't touch my Jesus," was one of my favorite lines. The man was such a frickin nutcase even Gordon was having second doubts about allying himself, but sadly, Gordon doesn't have a lot of choices these days.

Yeah, I liked this episode a lot. The previews for next week looked appropriately Sin City-esque and I'm intrigued. So far, season three is off to a good start.

Hope the sun comes out to make it easier for you to wake up and enjoy the day (and get the kids outside to run around!)

The sun never came out long enough to get the kids outside, but it wasn't a bad day. It was Friday, so that automatically gives it points on the good side.
