Oct. 31st, 2007 09:35 amSo, apparently the day of Halloween isn't the best time to be trying to buy costume accessories. All I need is some sort of witch's hat, but the lady at Rite Aid all but laughed in my face. It seems the witchs' hats have been sold out for a while now. Which leaves me here at work, trying to create a construction paper hat in the fifteen minutes before I need to put my costume on and head up to the classroom.
I'm pretty much wearing the same costume as I did on Saturday, except I'm wearing a longer skirt, a turtleneck sweater under the bodice instead of a spaghetti-strap top, and silver slippers instead of heely boots. And now, apparently, no hat. But, I do have a kickin' magic wand.
Happy Halloween, everyone!

Costumy enough, I guess. The hat got Sandy very excited. I have no idea what she thought it was, but she clearly knew it meant something special was going on! When I went to bed I left the hat on my kitchen counter. This morning Gelsomina was curled up on the brim of it, with the hat extending above her. She looked like the perfect little witch's familiar! When I get a digital camera ... !
