Ode to a Sunday Morning
Nov. 18th, 2007 10:03 amDear Bad!fic Writer,
Please to not be making your borrowed characters behave like really stupid fifth graders when they are in fact rather intelligent people with high levels of responsibility towards their jobs.
In other words, if you want to turn Rodney into a cat, find some way to do it that doesn't make John into a moronic and irresponsible team leader who endangers his teammates lives and then refuses to take any sort of responsibility for it, because despite his tendency to bicker/banter with McKay, he really does take his job extremely seriously and would never be as utterly, ridiculously cavalier with ancient tech as that.
And if you're purposefully writing Bad!fic, then you should make some sort of note of that in your header.
That is all.
Respectfully,
Me
So, I was lying in bed this morning, daydreaming about going to the local coffee shop and having a lovely coffee with a big bowl of yogurt/fruit/granola. It was a lovely daydream. Sadly, the reality involves not being the laziest person on the planet. It would involve actually getting dressed and walking all the way over there (at least half a mile, can you imagine?!) and I can't find their hours so I don't even know if they're open on Sundays and it's cold outside.
Okay, so I think that's probably enough with the italics. But you get my point. It's Sunday and I want to be lazy and stay at home and watch Supernatural dvds, but I also really want good coffee and food (which is in short supply round here). Oh the dilemma! What is a lazy, lazy girl to do?
Edit: Well, as I suspected, Local Coffee Shop was closed. Sad, sad, sad. But, having once ventured out for coffee, coffee I was gonna have. So I trekked out to Starbucks. It's such a scam - they make such godawful regular coffee that you have to buy an espresso drink and pay the extra money, plus they don't have the yummy granola/yogurt/fruit breakfast treat. Even more sad. But, I got a latte and a raspberry scone and a three mile walk out of it, so it's not all bad. And now I'm drinking coffee and watching my Supernatural dvds, so it looks like a win to me. *is happy*
