auntiemeeshI just looked at my clock and thought, 8:16? That can't be right, I just got home from work.
Oh yeah, I did babysitting for the board meeting, didn't get out till almost quarter after seven and then had to go to the store. So, yeah, almost twenty after eight is about right. I should probably eat some supper before it gets much later.
The symphony field trip went really well. The kids were amazingly well-behaved and all seemed to enjoy the music. The conductor who does these concerts is really patient with a child audience, and connected with the kids from the minute he stepped on stage, wearing a cowboy hat and riding a stick horse. The trip exhausted the kids, three of them fell asleep on the bus ride back to school.
Unfortunately, only a few of them napped after lunch and they were all tired, so the afternoon was a little stressful, as tired cranky children shouted at each other and tried to grab each other's toys for a good hour before snack (after snack we go outside and things get much easier). Plus, we had a naptime meeting, which means no breaks for the teachers, plus we were supposed to have a catered dessert bar today and it never showed up (the caterer got lost - she'll try again tomorrow - I'm unimpressed). Plus, I had to do the board meeting babysitting which meant I only had about a five minute break between finishing work and starting the babysitting. So, long cranky day, but the field trip went really well.
