Lost thoughts
Dec. 2nd, 2004 09:04 amSo, Lost last night. Holy cow! Time for some...
First of all, poor Claire! Dumped by the boyfriend that convinced her to keep the baby in the first place, stalked by a seemingly deranged psychic, unable to give her baby up for adoption, and then falsly lured onto a plane that was doomed to crash in the middle of nowhere! And now, plagued by stress induced nightmares and false labor. Not to mention being abducted by a very creepy guy!
Such a lot of lovely Charlie in this episode! That poor boy spends a lot of time madly dashing through the jungle for one reason or another. Not that I mind, as I mentioned to
pipspebble. For some reason I find him very endearing when he's running. Of course, as Pips mentioned, he's pretty endearing no matter what he's doing.
I love the protectiveness he is showing towards Claire, and the awkwardness he displays as he tries to get her to open up to him. "I thought, I could be your friend. We don't have to do each other's hair or anything." I wonder if he's ever just been 'friends' with a girl before, lol. And his panic when Claire has some false labor contractions was too cute. "I can help you. I don't know what I'm doing, but I can help you. If I kicked drugs, I can do this." And Claire's expression at this whole conversation. "Let me explain. I'm a drug addict. I was a drug addict, I'm clean now." And her response, "Go. get. Jack!"
(Once again, I'm feeling a bit discontented that there has been absolutely no follow through with drug addiction storyline. I've heard rumors that ABC, while completely comfortable with the torture scenario, isn't so happy with the drug addiction sub plot, so the writers may have been forced to back off it a bit.)
"We're not alone." It's such a classic line, with such a cool, creepy new twist. I was already feeling pretty creeped out by Ethan, and I had a feeling he wasn't going to tell Jack about Claire's labor, but I admit, I didn't suspect him of being other than a creepy shipwreck dude.
The ending of the episode was entirely creepy/freaky. What is this guy's interest to make the psychic feel so strongly that she must raise the baby herself?
Once again, this show has stepped things up a notch. And once again, I'm so glad it has. Such a good show! Thank goodness we get one more new episode before the holiday season begins and we have to make due with reruns. Although I'm sure there will be some horrible cliff hanger to keep us on the edge of our seats until the new episodes start up again in the new year.
