So, in the great ice vs. heat debate, ice is winning, hands down. Last night really, really sucked out loud but I've upped the amount of advil I'm taking, and added an ice pack every couple of hours or so, as needed, and it's been some better since midday. I've also decided that if it's not significantly better by Monday, then I'm calling the doctor, lack of health insurance be damned. Now, if I can just get some decent sleep tonight.

Hmm, perhaps we should make alternate plans for tomorrow? I hope you start getting some relief! :(

Well, it doesn't hurt at all right now, which is the first time that's happened since before Christmas, and [livejournal.com profile] lyda_pearl says working up a good sweat might actually help, so I'm still game if you are. :)

I don't know if an MD will help...I suggest a chiropractor. Sounds like you got some muscle spasm and misalignment. Keep up with ice and advil. If you can run or bike to work up a really good sweat it might slip back in by itself.

I thought about a chiropractor, but I think, if it's still a problem, I'll see a doctor first. It's feeling a lot better this morning, which I know is inspired by the advil I took a couple of hours ago, but it's the first time the pain went away completely with the advil, so I think I'm making some progress. :)

I'd recommend a message therapist before a chiropractor. A chiro will have you there for life with no end in sight.

Ever see Pen & Teller's Bullshit episode on Chiropractors?

I did give some thought to a massage therapist, but while I would trust them a little more than a chiropractor, I luckily don't need any of the above. After five days of misery, things seem to have finally resolved themselves. I have been pain free a good 85% of the last two days. :)

Glad to hear you are doing much better. I've never went to a massage therapist myself, but do have experience with a chiropractor.

Have a great new year!
