skating, movies and picspam.
Dec. 31st, 2007 07:24 pmYesterday was fun. Pain free and fun!
eve11 and I went to Pittsburgh's equivalent of Rockefeller Center to go ice skating.

The skating rink is small, but nice. The ticket office is a little ridiculous (we had to wait in line a good fifteen minutes before the line even moved and we only had three groups in front of us) and the snack place was woefully overpriced, but the tree in the center of the rink was very pretty.

I haven't been skating in probably three or four years and have never gone very often, so I was a little more flaily than I would have liked. So, in the following photo I'm not actually striking a pose, I'm really just trying to not fall over. By the time the pic was snapped I had somehow managed to spin all the way around and was facing the wrong direction on a oneway ice rink.

eve11 was much smoother on the ice.

Next up, a midafternoon movie. We went to see National Treasure 2 and mocked it mercilessly the whole way through. The best way to see a movie, in my opinion. 'Specially one as silly as that. Then, supper at Fuddruckers. Wow, how many different ways can you make a burger? Mine was a very yummy chili burger (chili, onions, and possibly cheese, who could tell with all that chili). Finally, the evening was capped off with season one Supernatural.
Today was for vegging out on the couch watching season six of Gilmore Girls. Surprisingly enough, I was completely successful in this endeavor. New Year's Eve requires Chinese food, so I got some delivered (chicken curry and chicken cashew). I'm not really a huge fan of chinese, but tradition must be followed.
And finally, a few days ago I promised kitten picspam, so here it is.
Mal's favorite place to hangout these days is under the slipcover on the sofa. Quite often he's completely invisible and I must admit, I've stepped on him a time or two. But he also uses it as a great sniper hideout, able to reach out and snag an ankle without me ever knowing he's there. Except when something is peeking out.

Silly boy can't resist his toys, though, so that always brings him forth.

His other favorite place to hangout is up at the very top of the hutch part of my computer desk. He perches up there much like Snoopy in vulture mode. I have to be careful, though. The camera flare from his eyes makes me worry sometimes that he might be a shapeshifter.

Date: 2008-01-02 03:30 pm (UTC)I considered either Chinese food or frozen pizza (the Morgan Co. "great new year's eve sheep hunt" tradition) but decided on extravagant multi-cheese macaroni and cheese instead. It was yummy, yummy, yummy the first time around and I've discovered that the leftovers are good whether eaten cold or reheated. Can't beat that!
