Today feels like Spring. It's warm (already in the mid-fifties) and sunny, all the snow is melting, the air is balmy. It's March, so the rest of the week is supposed to be colder and rainy, temps dipping back down to freezing by the weekend, but I don't care. It's a beautiful day. I left the windows open to air out my apartment while I'm at work - maybe it won't smell so stinky when I get home. *is hopeful*

Excuse me now while I go celebrate the first stirrings of Spring.

ETA: I was just checking to find out when Daylight Saving kicks in this year and found this helpful little website that not only shows the dates, but also gets into the grammar of the whole thing. I loved this particular sentence - Adding to the confusion is that the phrase Daylight Saving Time is inaccurate, since no daylight is actually saved. Daylight Shifting Time would be better, but it is not as politically desirable.

ETA: Oh what an idiot I am. While I was down here in the lounge rhapsodizing about Spring, my class was heading out on a fieldtrip. Yup. That's right - I was supposed to be in a little early today because the bus left at 9:15. And the irony is, I was in the building, just totally forgot that I needed to be in the room early. D'oh! So now I get to spend the morning making revisions to the portfolio instead of taking the kids out to the playground and enjoying the weather, which is what I thought I was going to be doing. *sigh*

Spring still makes me happy, though. Not even this can entirely destroy my warm, sunny mood.

Sorry you missed the fieldtrip and have to spend the time working on the portfolio instead! I hope that you get other opportunities to enjoy outdoor time today.

We played outside for an hour and a half this afternoon, in the mid-sixty degree weather. :)

What was the damage on the edits for the back end of the portfolio? I hope it's nothing too drastic.

They haven't got to the back half yet - they're still making their way through, but since I had nothing else to do while everyone was off having fun at the play, Assistant Director said I might as well get a head start on it. So it was mostly adding extra photos or making note of what extra photos I need for the beginning third or so.

Eeeek, thanks for the reminder. I need to see when the time change is coming.

Time change is coming this Sunday, the 9th. Far too soon for my liking - it means it's going to be dark on gym mornings again.

The thing is, I reminded myself several times on Friday, and then just completely forgot all about it once I got home. I am a boneheaded person sometimes. Then, later in the day, I lost the keys to our closet. Only temporarily, but still. Just one of those days.

We call it "summer time" and "winter time" actually. The little feeling we got of spring during the weekend is over. Now it's cold again (abour 3-4 C, 35-40-ish F). But it's getting more and more lighter outside, and it shows. It's not dark untill about 7pm and the daylight comes earlier in the mornings too. Yay!

Yeah, today was it for our spring weather as well, with temps dropping back down to below freezing by the end of the week. But as you say, the days are getting longer - it's so nice to leave work at six and have it still by light out. :)
