Entertainment, part one: On a whim I downloaded the first episode of New Amsterdam. I really liked it - the premise appeals to me, the guy who doesn't age, can't die. The whole 'until you find the one and your souls wed' bit is a little corny, but the first ep was good. The right mix of history and angstiness and humor and cop-plot. I suppose now I'll have to get the rest of the season.

Entertainment, part two: Bones was back on tonight. Yay! I've been watching Angel the past few weeks, and while I like Angel, I prefer Booth, so it was good to have him back. Plus, Temperance kills me. Seriously, her mix of science supersmartness and cultural idiocy is just so fun to watch.

Entertainment, part three: At work today, we (me and my group of kids) were sitting at the table talking, and somehow or other the talk came round to dentists. So I said something about going to the dentist. Well, F (who has been suffering from almost complete hearing loss in one ear due to extreme waxy buildup) thought I said something else altogether. Very quietly she said to me, 'dammit is a bad word.' It took me a minute to figure out where this randomness was coming from, before it occurred to me that when I said dentist, she must have heard dammit. So I agreed with her and then explained that I had actually said dentist. And somehow managed not to laugh, but it was hard, because it really was funny.

Dentist ... dammit, dammit ... dentist. Really, there's not much difference when you think about it.

I'm glad you had such an entertaining day!

There certainly is a certain causal connection between people saying dentist and then saying dammit - it's an easy enough jump to make, I think. :)

we saw all the pre-school kids today having a parade through the main building. Tristan was the only one I still recognize, but they were cute cute cute.
