Two more resumes sent off through the wonder of the internet and a third packet ready to be printed out and mailed tomorrow. I wonder if I'll ever hear anything back from any of these...
I suppose so. I have such a pessimistic view of things sometimes. Because one person wasn't interested, I feel like no one will be. I do realize, of course, that this is absurd and not true. Still, until someone actually grants me an interview, I will continue to feel like I'm sending these resumes out into the ether to no good purpose.
I sent out something like 30 applications when I was on the job market. From those I got 5 or 6 phone interviews, 2 campus interviews and 1 job offer. It really is a numbers game - the more applications you send out, the more likely you are to hit just the right one. You just have to make yourself believe you have a tough tough hide and are impervious to rejection for the duration!
