Puddlejumpers and TARDISes, oh my!
Jun. 28th, 2008 09:45 pmHm, Puddlejumper, my laptop, is behaving suspiciously. It shut itself off twice while I was watching Doctor Who. Either it didn't like the plotline, or there's a problem. I'm going to let it rest tonight and see how it behaves tomorrow, but I'm worried that it might be a problem with the cooling fan.
Wait, what?!? Regeneration? They'd better be fucking with us, that's all I can say. I thought we'd have David Tennant at least until the end of this season. And the thing is, I absolutely love him as the Doctor, but his Doctor is getting a little tired. He's lost that boundless energy and wonder he had at the beginning of his tenure. He's spending a lot more time being sad and tired now. So, in a way, it probably wouldn't be the worst thing ever for him to regenerate, except that I don't want him to.
That whole 'run to meet Rose' scene was a bit overdone. It was inevitable from the moment we saw Rose standing so far away, that a Dalek was going to interfere with the reunion. Dammit! I'm not really a shipper, and I know the Doctor has had companions before that he felt the same way about, but I really do love the Doctor and Rose together, and I was looking forward to a little of that.
It was kind of cool to see the whole Doctor Who universe all together, with Torchwood (and it's a good thing I already knew Owen and Tosh were dead or I'd be feeling a little WTF!?! there, too - someday I'm actually going to get caught up on Torchwood),and Sarah Jane, and Rose and Martha and Wilf and everyone. And poor Rose, having it shoved in her face that while yes, she's important, she's not the only one who's important, and they can all get on and do what has to be done without her. That wasn't very pleasant for her.
So, I'll eagerly await next week's episode, to see how they get themselves out of this particular fix. I hope it's good.
