Jul. 3rd, 2008 09:50 pmI think I sleep-walked through most of today. It was pretty hilarious. At work, I went down to the teacher's lounge, took my lunch out of my backpack and set it on the table, zipped up my pack and tried to cram it into the fridge. Luckily, I realized what I was doing before I actually put the backpack into the refrigerator.
Twenty minutes later, I was getting a gallon of milk from the big fridge in the kitchen (for the kids snack). Totally didn't see the huge blue bowl of nectarines sitting on top of the milk jugs. Next thing I know, there are nectarines rolling all over the kitchen floor.
Half an hour later, tried to unlock the staff bathroom, and literally could not make the key go into the keyhole. It took a ridiculously long time to drum up enough hand-eye coordination to do this simple task.
Things did improve after that, luckily, or I might have done some real damage to something other than nectarines. By midafternoon I had reached that 'so tired I feel nauseous' stage. What fun!
But the tiredness was all a result of good fun. Went to a Rush concert last night with
eve11 and her boyfriend. This was part of a 2008 extension of their 2007 Snakes and Arrows tour, with a different song set (according to D) and some slightly different video elements (according to my admittedly faulty memory). It was a good show, the weather was perfect for it, and we remembered where we parked the car. Last summer, Eve and I wandered back and forth across the parking lot a good three or four times before finally finding her car. With post-concert traffic and all, it was 12:30 before I got home and I don't like to think how late it must have been for Eve. It was at least one-thirty before I got to sleep, which still gave me six hours last night, which really doesn't explain the stupid-tired today.
Speaking of which, it's all of ten o'clock and I think I'm just about ready for bed.

Date: 2008-07-07 07:41 pm (UTC)Prior to our hike on Friday I kept trying to put some carrots and apples into a big ziplock bag to put inside my daypack as my lunch. To my consternation first the carrots, then one apple, then another apple fell onto the sand at my feet. I kept picking them up, dusting them off and trying again - retrieving each thing (except the apple that rolled under the car) two or three times before I finally realized the bag had a major structural integrity problem. D'oh! At that point I was just glad that it was only a lunch bag, not a poop bag!
