I've been watching Bones. Apparently Booth has a problem with rich people. They don't have any idea what it's like to have it tough. Booth, having grown up on the mean streets of Pittsburgh, on the other hand, knows what it's like.

Mean streets of Pittsburgh. It just cracks me up.

Whenever I think of Pittsburgh I think of Mr. Belvedere. I used to love that show when I was little. My friend and I used to argue over which one of us was going to grow up and marry Wesley. LOL!

P.S. Meant to ask - did you get to the Bones episode(s) with Stephen Fry in them? I think he's playing a shrink - or so I heard.

I just watched them this weekend. Fry's shrink character is the one, in fact, who pulls this little Pittsburgh fact out of Booth. :)

I dunno. To me, the mean streets in Pittsburgh are the ones perpetually under construction and detoured to infinity and beyond.

I have to add, it sounds like their tv interpretation of the 'Burgh is about as accurate as the version of my hometown was in The Facts of Life. Peekskill has plenty of mean streets....

yeah, tv shows rarely manage to present a well-rounded and accurate view of anywhere.

Maybe he grew up in a traveling construction crew - year in and year out, working those mean streets, never getting to come in out of the cold/heat. That would make a person bitter against those privileged folks with homes and heating/airconditioning. :)
