clothing is heavy

I went shopping today at the Waterfront and seemingly was suffering from some sort of clothing-related temporary insanity. I blame it all on Old Navy, as they have decided to sell all sorts of adorably cute clothes (that amazingly enough actually fit me) for low, low prices.
The damages:
Two pairs of jeans
two camis (for layering)
two long-sleeved scoop neck tees
one zip-up hoodie
two v-neck long sleeve tees
three princess sleeve sweaters
Next I hit DSW, where I bought a pair of Mudd heels

and some Skechers.

Finally, on to Target, where I got a belt, lots of colorful little socks and some undies. Oh, and a watch. One that will actually fit my wrist.
I'm not sure I've ever bought this much clothing in one go, but my wardrobe has been sorely suffering. All of my jeans have holes at the knee and I always need new shirts and sweaters - this time I at least managed to buy some sweaters in a different style than the last few years.
Of course, I misjudged how long it would take to do this shopping. I flew through Old Navy like a whirlwind and the other stores didn't take very long, either. Which means I got back into Squirrel Hill a good hour and a half before my bus was due. Which means I walked home, carrying all that heavy clothing, probably a good two miles. My arms are going to be sore tomorrow.
I was pleased to see Obama supporters out in force today, but they were canvassing Squirrel Hill, which is already fully in their camp. I'm hoping they were also out in Republican neighborhoods.
Now I am exhausted. I think it's an excellent time to sit back, download SGA and read some fic.

Date: 2008-09-20 08:09 pm (UTC)"Dachsunds for Obama" is fantastic. I've been wanting an Obama button for a while, so at least I was able to get one today. First time I've ever bought a political button - I'm not sure what that says about the state of affairs around here these days.
