Poor Mal, so sad. I withheld tuna from him today. Yes, it was Denial of Tuna. He's unacceptably fat, and after work he chased Tookie (poor, half-starved Tookie) away from her bowl and ate all her kitty mush. That resulted in him getting locked in the bathroom while she had another serving, and then no tuna when I made my supper - the last thing he needs is more food.

Mr. Mal was not pleased, at all. He also completely didn't understand why he was being denied tasty treats. He's giving me resentful looks even as I type.

Poor Mal! It's hard enough to control one's gustatory impulses when one knows that indulging them leads directly to unwanted weight gain. How much more unreasonable it must seem to be expected to control them without that insight!
