It's a wintry November day. Not quite below freezing, but windy and with scattered snow flurries. Brr! Winter weather notwithstanding, I dragged myself out of the house this morning. First stop Starbucks, for a pumpkin spice latte and a few minutes with a good book (I'm currently reading "Last Child in the Woods," and I'll have some thoughts on it once I'm done). Then to Barnes & Noble where I browsed but manfully (womanfully) resisted the temptation to buy anything. Last stop, the grocery store to buy me some foods. I've noticed just in the past few months a big push by stores to get people to buy reusable bags - they've been hung in prominent spots all over the grocery store, the book store and, well, those are the only stores I go to, so I guess that's it. So I picked up one bag today, at the grocery store. I'll probably get another one next time I manage to make a grocery run. Between two bags and my backpack, that should eliminate any need for plastic (and just in time, too - the cupboard under the sink is overflowing with grocery bags, which I recycle as receptacles for litter box scooping).

I've started whittling down the enormous pile of laundry. It will probably take the rest of the day to get it all done, but there is hope of clean clothes this week.

And, I've updated my match.com profile. One of the not-so-selling points of the profile is my pretty awful profile pic. I don't have photos of me, because I'm usually the one taking the pictures of other people and things, but this morning I fixed my hair, put on some make-up, and took a few pics of myself. I think I managed to get one that was decent, so I put it up, as well as a whimsical pic of me in my purple fairy halloween costume. It can't hurt, I figure. I'm also slowly rewriting some of the profile. I'm not in any rush with that, though. I have just about one more month left of my original subscription and it's still up in the air whether I'll continue it or not. Maybe if I get more activity after this it will seem worthwhile to continue.

We do the recyclable bag thing here as well. I've had my stark green one for a while, but I use the plastic ones for rubbish, so I need some of those as well.

No snow flurries here though, but it's been frosty out some nights now. I guess it's related to the full moon we just had. Always gets colder then.

That's really interesting. I wonder if it's the same here? *reminds self that there is real work to be done, no time for cross-checking weather and moon cycles right now*

So far I've got nothing, but I don't really care, since I haven't really seen anyone I'm terribly interested in. Not really loving the people on match, so far.

yeah, my eharmony thing is about to wrap up and they keep sending me emails to resign up and just. Nah. Time for a break me thinks.

I'm feeling pretty much the same way. Match promises six months free if your first six months don't get you any good results, but I don't think I really want another six months of this, even if it is free.

I love snow at this time of year. Give me a few months and I'll be well and truly tired of it, but right now it's such a lovely novelty.

I have several "green" bags. The trick for me is remembering to take them into the stores even though I keep them on the back seat of the car. At Trader Joe's where I shop sporadically they give you a ticket to enter a drawing when you bring them in. I have never really asked what I will win, I just realized!

I suspect that will be my biggest problem, as well.
