Martian Child
Nov. 29th, 2008 08:55 pmSo, Martian Child made it to the top of my Netflix queue this weekend. This was a 2007 release with John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Joan Cusack and a few others, that I don't remember ever hearing about. I'm not entirely sure how I came across the title or exactly what prompted me to put it on my queue, but holy heck! What a good movie.
Now, I'm the sort of person who almost never cries at movies or tv shows. But. The magic bullet that will get me every time is kids. Kids who are damaged and struggling, and the people who are struggling with those kids make me cry every single time. I cried a lot during this one. Sometimes because it was heartbreaking, sometimes because it was beautiful and silly and lovely.
I know that this sort of movie isn't to everyone's taste, but I give it four stars. I think everyone should watch it and love it as much as I did.
