We had a lovely, mostly lazy Christmas Day. It started bright and early (too early for my lazy self) with stockings and presents. Then [livejournal.com profile] whtmntwmn came over and we took the dogs (sans Bowie, stuck in his crate with hurt nails) for a walk to Cascade Falls. It was a beautiful day and I got some great pics which I'll post when I get back home (didn't bring my camera cable with me). The rest of the day was spent quietly. I worked on making a slipcover pattern for the chairs - nearly finished - while [livejournal.com profile] lyda_pearl and [livejournal.com profile] ani_no_mouse prepped dinner. We ate late, then watched a bit of Gilmore Girls before retiring to our separate rooms for a quiet wind-down before bed.

It looks like there are lots of shows awaiting me when I get home. I'm trying hard to avoid all spoilers for the Doctor Who Christmas Special and the leaked episodes of SGA. I debated waiting until they air, but since the show has already been cancelled and my watching or not wouldn't affect ratings anyway, I say 'what am I waiting for?'

Okay, off to check the laundry - I'm washing all the new fabric in prep for starting the actual slip covers. I should be able to start working on them sometime this afternoon or evening. *crosses fingers that they are done before the end of vacation*

Glad you had a good Christmas. Hope the slipcovers are a fairly simple pattern that will work up quickly and easily.

It seemed like they would, but that is proving not to be the case. Mostly because I'm working slowly and don't know what the heck I'm doing. But I'm at the point of transfering the pattern pieces that I basted together to some nifty graph/tracing paper that LP found at the school. Once that's done, I'll start piecing it out on the fabric and after that it really should (hopefully) go pretty quickly, since she's got a sewing machine for the actual sewing.

Not fail, just incomplete...

i've downloaded the last two eps of SGA, but I've not seen them yet. There is something finalizing about seeing the very last bit of a show. I like SGA, and I've kind of got a grasp on most of it now, so it'll be sad to see it go.
