I'm doing a sort of low-key ramp up to job hunting again. If I see a posting that looks interesting I'll click on it but up till now I hadn't seen anything that tempted me to apply.

I'm definitely applying for this one, though. I think my skills are adequate for the job, so that they should at least not laugh at my resume, even if they don't consider me. And, it's in Germany. How sweet would that be? And a good salary, plus housing expences, plus, a relocation allowance. Only drawback would be trying to get Mal over there (there's no way Tookie would be able to do it). I'm not sure if he'd be able to go with me, but I'd figure something out. I'm not getting my hopes up because I know how these things go, but I am going to do my damnedest to make my resume shine in the next few days before I send it out (it's due by the 25th of this month, so no dallying).

The only problem, which occured to me later, is that I don't currently have a passport and I don't know when I would have to start. But I've been thinking about going ahead and getting my passport renewed, anyway, so I might just do it regardless.

Nein. I took high school German, though, so there is still a bunch of stuff floating deep in my mind - I think I'd be able to pick up some basic stuff pretty quickly. And, it's an American military base library, so German isn't really as needed.

Hurray for finding a job posting that looks positive! And in a country where everyone should be able to pronounce your name! The idea of having you in Germany is of course daunting, but considering how infrequently I manage to get myself to see you In Pgh, perhaps it will not make much difference. (Note the tense of that verb!)

Good luck!

I don't know that the posting looks positive so much as it would just be really cool if I got it. I'm not going to hold my breath though.
