Despite being dead tired all day, I managed to drum up the energy for ice skating with friends after work. First time this winter. It took a good long while to find my balance (which is minimal at the best of times) but I had great fun. Ran into (not literally, thank goodness) a little girl that I used to babysit for, out with her dad. Managed to only fall on my tush once. After about an hour and a half, we traded in our skates and reconvened at Silky's to watch the last half of the Penguins game. I had one whole drink and am slightly buzzed from it. Silky's may not serve the best vodka, but they're generous with it. And my tolerance for alcohol is nearly non-existent these days.

Now I have an episode of Merlin all queued up and ready to go, and then it will be time for bed, I think.

I haven't been ice skating in a while now. I wonder if I can still do it or if I'd fall and kill several skaters. But, it's best not to think about that, isn't it?

I manage to get out once every year or five (this is the second year in a row I've made it out once, before that I'm not sure how long it was). Suffice to say, I do not have mad skating skillz. I can pretty much stay upright, if a bit wobbly, as long as I never lift either blade off the ice. This makes for ungainly skating, but it prevents most bruises.

I suppose, to an extent. I watched episode eight last night and it kind of bored me, to be honest. Of course, that might also be because I was deeply tired and wanting sleep more than entertainment.

I love to watch ice skating. I wish I knew how--I have the utmost awe for anyone who can manage to stay upright on those little blades, much less actually move around and *do* stuff on them!

I was out with a good friend and some of her co-workers and they are all fairly competent hocky-style skaters, going fast and backwards most of the time. And then there was me, sticking close to the boards, going slow, and trying not to get run over by the teenagers, lol.

I used to roller skate a good deal as a child. NOT roller-blades, but the old-fashioned rollerskates that you put on over your shoes and adjusted with a *gasp* key! But the only time I had a chance to try iceskating with a cousin, the ice on the pond she took me to was too thin, and we had to go back to her house.

I always felt I'd missed something.

We had some of those around when I was a kid. I think I had a pair of eighties-type roller skates at one point, although I can't really remember. I do know I only went to the roller rink a few times, and was just as clumsy with wheels as I am now with blades, lol.

Skating is good fun, and good exercise, as well.

Sounds like a good evening! Yay you for getting out on a work night to have some fun! I'd do it, but I would never be able to be up again the next morning.

I had a very fun evening, and a great deal of difficulty getting up this morning. My butt hurts, especially when walking up hill or up stairs. I totally wimped out and took the bus this morning, when I realized every single step I took up Wilkins was going to actually hurt.
