Today was one of those crappy days where I feel like it takes all my willpower to not just walk out the door in disgust and never return to that workplace again. But I made it through. And one of my co-workers, D, invited me to her place after work for a cup of tea. Well, I ended up having two mixed drinks (Southern Comfort and grapefruit juice) instead of tea. Her husband had invited a co-worker over for dinner and she was prepping for that, and I felt a bit guilty about being there when she was busy, but she ended up inviting me to stay, and it was a lovely evening. Quite a bit more alcohol than I usually partake of (there was also wine with dinner), particularly on a work night, but good food and good company. Because of a little mix up with the stuffed chicken, we didn't eat until almost nine-thirty, though, so now it's almost bedtime and I'm still stuffed. I'll have to stay up late tonight. What a shame.

I do believe I'm going to have to have a dinner party some time in the next few months. This will give me an excuse to get the rest of my apartment cleaned up and my kitchen in some sort of order. It will also give me an excuse to pull out the few cookbooks I have and see if I can find a good recipe or two.

I may actually get around to it, or not. My history with parties has been less than stellar.
