It was a struggle to get my three miles in at the gym this morning. But I did it, and I increased my speed by a whole thirty seconds to boot. Take that, crappy body! You lose, I win. Ha!

I was really hungry this morning when I stopped at the convenience store for coffee and protein. But I managed to restrain myself and bought a banana instead of a greasy and mostly just disgusting breakfast sandwich. So once again, I say Ha! Take that, body. The real test comes this afternoon though, because there's a special lunch for the teachers and there will be chocolatey desserts that everyone else will be eating with great gusto and I will have to walk away. I hate walking away from free desserts, but this must be done. Last night I dreamed that my will power disappeared and I ate the dessert, almost by accident - it just fell right into my mouth, really.

YEAH!!! If you want more tips, I am doing a "daily" diet support group on my LJ, if you'd like I can put you on the filter. It's basically a 30 day diet - I use the term loosely because it's more like change your eating habits - support for 4 atm. :) mainly grew out of my need to have people keep me in check. Cause yes, those desserts DO fall into your mouth. *nods* I know.

Maybe the chocolate cake will be of the really disappointing cardboard-tasting variety, and so you and your body will win by not having to eat it.

That's what I'll tell myself, anyway. :)

When my mom was going through a particularly bad diabetic episode and had to go to a function where there were tons of goodies, I suggested she try to see all the desserts with a big skull and crossbones image superimposed over it: POISON. It worked for her!

Now if our society would just realize that sugar is poison...

Good luck!
=D

And you probably can't tell, because the image is crap, but the cupcake in the icon, has a skull and bones on it. :)

Bananas are awesome. I eat one nearly every day, just because they taste so good.

Good on ya for your progress!

I've been eating a lot of bananas this week. I get tired of them after awhile, though, so I'm trying not to overload. :)
