Days 5 and 6 of 14.

Today was tough, I have to say. I allowed myself to order out since I was feeling to tired and blah to go to the store. I managed to stick with a cup of chili and a meatloaf sandwich (that came with french fries, so not entirely healthy), no soda and no dessert. Same yesterday (um, to the extent of no soda or dessert, not the ordering out). Babysitting was hard because they had several bottles of diet soda lying about but nothing much else to drink. After much searching I managed to find the teabags and had a nice cup of herbal tea. Success!

Such a very lazy day today. I watched the Capitals and the Rangers play. [livejournal.com profile] westwindschild is a big Caps fan so I was marginally rooting for them, but mostly just enjoying a game that I could watch without great emotional investment. Sometimes it's nice to watch the game just to watch people playing hockey. It's a fun sport that I'm slowly beginning to figure out.

This evening I watched the two hour pilot and the next three episodes of Invisible Man. One in a long line of SciFi shows that got the ol' heave ho before it was really time. At the moment I'm Netflixing it, but it's top of my list next time I have a little mad money. It's really interesting how some of these shows still appeal to me years later, and others that I loved once upon a time I can't even watch now. I wonder what the key to some shows' longevity is.

It's going to be a crazy busy week at work. I have to try to get approximately eight parent teacher conferences prepared (we usually only have to do three to four apiece) while finding time to finish up this ITERS project that was technically due back at the end of February. All before L leaves the Toddler room either this Friday or next Friday (when the bosses talked to me on Friday, they didn't know when she was done). So, yeah. The conferences won't be done this week, and I'll have to work overtime to get ITERS done, but it will happen somehow. I'm guessing the state of achy exhaustedness I've been in at the end of every day will continue for a while. Oh, it's gonna be fun.

Thanks. I was naively hoping it would be easier at this point, but it seems to be ramping up a bit. A whole week without any sweets leaves me feeling the urge even more. I'll have to be careful when I'm done that I don't go crazy with the chocolate and undo everything.

I wish I could have more will in other things, like managing to exercise more than twice a week. That would make such a huge difference.

Thanks. I had to force myself to not obsess over every little detail of all the things I have to do this week, in order to get any sleep last night, lol.

When I was still seeing my dietician she told me that if I walked 180 minutes I week I would most likely see a difference in my weight. That is a 30 minute walk 6 days a week if you spread it out. Of course I know you already walk alot so it would have to be extra walking. It might be easier on you than running however.

Hope the week goes well. Do you at least get overtime pay in order to do the P-T conferences?

That's the thing about the walking. Most days I do two twenty/twenty-five minute walks (to and from work). Or a three mile run followed by a ten minute walk to work, and then the regular twenty-five minute walk home. I just don't see myself adding an extra half hour onto that ever, especially right now when I'm so tire at the end of the day that I'm physically achy and still have to walk home.

I like the running, however, and don't want to give it up, even if I'm not doing it as much as I should in order to get a full health benefit from it. And I kind of hate walking just to walk around - I get bored really, really quickly.

I do get paid for the time I need to do the conferences, so that's one good thing.
