Half way through the third period, the Penguins get a power play. Gonchar scored! 3-2 "I'll be cow-kicked!"

Holy crap this is stressful. About two and a half or three minutes to go and the Pens are up. Everyone is pushing, so the action is fast and furious.

Off a turnover from the wings, Max Talbot just scored an empty net goal with less than a minute left. And Mike Lange declares the game over, "Elvis has just left the building!" The last few seconds are still tense, as the 'Wings make a powerful effort, but no dice.

Fleury was weak the first two games, but he held up when it counted tonight. Go Fleury!

Because I tend to consider hockey to be just another fandom I've become obsessed with, I keep wanting to write all these silly little hockey crossovers with my other favorite fandoms. So there very well could be Gondorian hockey before the end. :)

Faramir is a natural Forward who just needs a little support and confidence to shine at the task. Boromir, however, with his greater mass, is a perfect defenseman. Denethor the Crazy, Gondor's head coach, however cannot bear to see Boromir as anything other than a Center. This creates problems for the team because Boromir forgets to be a team player. He wants the puck all the time and when the game is in jeopardy, he thinks he has to be the one to save the day all by himself. This opens up the field to scoring chances by the Mordor Wraith, who are always ready to exploit any weakness on the ice.

LOL! Aragorn is the slumping defensive center (aquired at the trade deadline seemingly out of nowhere) who nonetheless needs to gain confidence and live up to his potential. ;)
