payday

I got paid today. When I looked at the check to see how much I got, I didn't notice that it was an actual check and not a direct deposit stub. At one point in the afternoon the director came around and asked if everything was okay with our checks. Having no reason to think otherwise, we all said yes. I got home, checked email and found not one but two notices from work that there had been a problem with the direct deposit and we should look at them to make sure they were okay. Looked at my check. Yup. Not directly deposited. And, as a bonus, also not signed. *sigh*

So I have to remember to take my check with me to work on Monday and get it signed, and then try to find some time to run to the bank and deposit it. *is crankiface* Luckily, I'm not going to bounce any checks or anything. But it's annoying as all get out.

On the plus side, the Penguins won their Thanksgiving Eve hockey game for the first time in something like seven years. This gives them 17 wins in 25 games, which ties a franchise record. Not bad for a team that is just climbing out of an injury-induced spiral of disaster.

I just hope I remember to take the check in to work with me on Monday. I should put it in my bag now so I don't forget later.

Bummer pay day. Hope it gets resolved so next one can be direct deposited. I miss that with my quilt shop check but there are not enough employees even though I bank at the bank the check is drawn on. Maybe I was the only one who wanted it, I didn't ask that. Enjoy your long weekend off.

I don't think this should affect future direct deposits, but who knows.

You should definitely have been told more directly that those checks were "real" checks!

I agree. I would have looked a lot more closely if the director had specified in person what the problem was. As it was, I thought it was about making sure the amounts were right, and the amount was right, so I didn't think to look further, lol.

That does not sound like a pleasant pay day surprise! I hope it all gets resolved without causing major problems (like bounced checks and overdraft fees)!

Since I don't intend to do any major shopping over the weekend or anything, I'll be fine. It's just annoying, is all.

I hate it when things go wrong with my pay day! That all sounds very annoying. I'm glad you didn't have anything that was going to bounce because of this.

The Powers that Be should make sure nothing ever goes wrong with pay day. It's very inconsiderate of them. Especially over a long holiday weekend.

Exactly! Pay Day should be correct even if nothing else is.
