Things:

* I have a cold. Sore throat, with a little sniffly, sneezy action on the side. Not bad, but annoying.

* Got my hair done this morning. No more gray roots for me.

* My toilet is clogged. I've plunged and plunged but no joy, and now my plunger is nearly dead. The rubber has cracked and broken in places. Wherever the clog is, is too far back for me to reach with the non-snaky tools I have, so there isn't much more I can do. I can't get ahold of my landlady, so I have no idea how long this is going to go on. *not happy at all* Update: Before I left for my hair appt I saw the landlady's daughter and told her the problem. She said she'd tell landlady. When I got home, no word, and I couldn't get hold of landlady. Finally just decided to call a plumber. I know who my landlady uses, so I called them and started explaining the problem. "Is this Mary?" the guy asked. "Um, yeah?" "Landlady and Daughter have been calling us all day. We were just waiting until we knew someone was there." First, it was hilarious that my "I'm a renter and I can't get ahold of my landlady" was enough to tell them who I was. Second, if landlady had just left a message saying call me here *insert number* when you get home, it would have been taken care of much soon. But it's done and now my toilet is fixed, and I've received a lecture on which toilet paper I use, by two young guys who looked every bit as uncomfortable with the conversation as I was, lol.

* Mal has started playing again. The past week or so, he's been almost his old self, having spastic moments where he's dashing about the house, challenging Zoe on their climbing 'tree'. This is good, even though it does mean I now have two crazy cats dashing madly about the house.

* Watching the Olympics. I've been enjoying the figure skating and the snowboarding the most, but I seem to be liking pretty much everything this time around (the past few winter olympics I didn't watch anything at all). This includes the ridiculous drama from competitors like Yevgeni Plushenko (pouting over winning silver instead of gold) and the Korean short track speed skaters' feud with Apolo Ohno. Onward, my friends, to the next event.

Ugh, on the toilet front, I can totally relate. Mine kept clogging too, and we finally just got a new one, even though the old one was just 5 years old, because we couldn't find any trouble in the pipes. Seems to be better now, thankfully. Of course, most of the major non-flushing events happened when I was very ill. The toilet knows...

Hope yours is fixed very soon!
=D

Well, the plumber was just by and told me the toilet's going to continue to clog if I continue to use Cottonelle toilet paper. It's sad that I have to choose between functional toilet paper and a functional toilet. :(

No way! I use that too. Huh. What brand was his recommendation?

He said Scott. I used to use it, but I think at the CVS by work (where I do most of that sort of shopping) only sells it in single rolls. I'll have to double check though.

Hummm, I have been a Scott user for years. I probably use more of it at a time than if I used a heavier one but that's life. Hope you can find it and keep things flowing. LOL

I'm sorry to hear about your cold, and the plumbing problems. I hope they're both greatly improved very soon!

Yay, Mal is back. :)

The toilet is fixed, at least. The cold will probably take a little longer, lol.

I've been enjoying MSNBC which is apparently the "curling and ice hockey" channel :D Our local channels were out for the past few days on the satellite (no idea why but it's fixed now), so I was "stuck" with ice hockey and curling. Twist my arm, NBC! ;)

I wish I got MSNBC. I know NBC has some stuff streaming live on their Olympics page. I'll have to see if I can see tomorrow's USA/Canada game that way.

Your toilet works and your kitty is playful again! Two great reasons for happiness if you ask me! Hope you continue to enjoy the Olympics.

I had my hair done today as well. No more roots showing. And as for the olympics, i watch some but there's a lot I'm not interested in.
