All good things must come to an end

It's the last day of the Olympics. The competitive events are done, all the medals have been awarded, it's all wrap-up from here on out.
I wanted to do a little list of my favorite moments, but my memory being what it is, I can no longer remember most of them. *is lame*
But here's what I still remember (there were some bad moments as well, but I'm not focusing on them tonight):
* The USA Nordic Combined team. Those guys kicked ass to win the first US Olympic gold in the sport, as well as several individual medals.
* Evan Lysacek winning gold in the men's figure skating. His skating was great, and the mini drama playing out on the medal podium was too funny to ignore.
* Ski cross and snowboard cross. These events were just a ton of fun to watch.
* Watching all the snowboarders do their thing with their ipods playing away. As someone said somewhere along the line, as a sport, it's about having fun, far more than other, older Olympic sports.
* Laughing at the bobsledders in their skintight outfits and not so skintight bodies (yeah, I'm like that - I know these guys are strong and fit, but they're not lean enough for skintight spandex, seriously).
* Celebrating when Steve Holcomb won gold for the US bobsled team for the first time in sixty years.
* Every view of Vancouver. What a beautiful part of the world!
* Norway's Petter Northug surging ahead at the end of a thirty mile race to win the cross-country 50km.
* Kim Yu-Na's breathtaking free skate.
* Every minute of the USA Canada hockey game today. It was hard to root for just one team (yeah, I rooted for Canada, hopefully I won't be stripped of my US citizenship as a result) but both teams played just about as well as anyone could hope for. And Sid the Kid, after being quiet for the past three games, came up big when it counted and got the overtime goal for Canada.
There were a ton more, which I'm sure I'll remember somewhere along the line. Probably when I'm watching a highlight reel. I love the Winter Olympics so much more than the Summer Olympics, and I'm sad that it's going to be four more years before we get to do this again.
