Ah, computers. I love 'em, but they're a pain in the butt sometimes. My IE exploded last night. Yeah, I know IE is crap, but I tried switching to firefox and it doesn't work with Google Toolbar, which has all my bookmarks. So I've been sticking with IE. And now it's refusing to open all the way, but it will self replicate its non-opening window over and over. *sigh*

I did have firefox available on my computer, as well. Except, apparently that was before the Great Hard-Drive Crash of '09. Currently, my computer is barren of all internet access. My plan: I've downloaded firefox setup to my flash drive. Hopefully, I'll be able to use that to set up firefox on my laptop. Otherwise, I'll have to find the discs that came with the computer and figure out which one had IE on it and reinstall that. If neither of those things works, I'll be on the phone with Dell, figuring what's wrong with the laptop.

I like IE better, when it works. That's the big thing, though.

I have both IE and Firefox on my laptop but I like IE better. However my bookmarks migrated when I downloaded Firefox. At least most of them.

Since all my bookmarks are on google, they won't just migrate. I'd have to redo them all. Big pain.

That is what's been happening with me all week! I didn't realize that Firefox wouldn't work with the Google toolbar. Maybe if I just get rid of the Google toolbar I can access the internet through Firefox?

You can still access the internet with firefox. Your google toolbar just won't show up.

Did you try going through add and remove programs? The toolbar on the left contains a section for Windows components. You can uninstall/reinstall IE though there, at least IE6. You shouldn't need the disk for that.

It seems to have randomly deleted itself. Those files might also have been quarantined. I ran a virus scan after it started freaking out and McAfee quarantined a few files. When I tried to uninstall/reinstall just now, there was no IE to be found. I've got Firefox on now, though, and I think I'll try to get used to it, since it's reportedly a better browser.
