Oh no, it's a hockey post!
May. 29th, 2010 02:18 pmTonight begins the final hockey series of the 2009-2010 season. The Chicago Blackhawks and the Philadelphia Flyers have withstood every challenge that came at them and have earned the right to be the final two teams still playing. I'm hoping for some good, fast, hard-hitting hockey in the next week or two.
I wrote out a tl:dr post about how I don't know who I'm going to cheer for in this series, but deleted it because it's not true. Or at least, not relevant. At some point during the upcoming series, probably before the end of game one, I'll be cheering for one team or the other. Probably, despite all my instincts as a Penguins fan, for the Flyers (sorry,
antbee362 . They're the underdog and I can't resist a good underdog. Plus, I grew up in the eastern part of the state and cheering for Philly teams is a pretty deeply ingrained habit. Plus plus, whether it's petty and lame or not, I want Hossa (currently with the 'Hawks) to suck it and lose.
Either way, the games will be bittersweet (since the Pens aren't playing) but fun. Puck drops a little after 8pm, eastern time. Give it a watch, you never know, it might surprise you.

Date: 2010-05-30 03:29 am (UTC)The paper did have a chart showing that Phila. has a better record in professional sports than any other city since all 4 major sports have been in playoffs in this decade or some such thing. It was an interesting take, I thought.
