It's Friday, yay!

It's a rumbly, thundery evening. There is a steady but light rain falling and Zoe is hiding under the sofa. She is much more fearful of the thunder than Mal, who barely flicks an ear even when it's booming right outside our windows. Zoe, on the other hand, slinks under the sofa at the first dim, distant, barely audible hint of thunder. I wonder if it's a vestige of being a stray last summer?

I finally put in my request for some vacation time over the summer. I'm taking three days at the end of July and three more mid August. I haven't figured out what to do with them yet, although the days in August may involve me feverishly working on my Dragon Con costume. If anyone has any ideas for fun things to do on loooong weekends off in the summer, please comment with them - I'd love to hear your ideas.

All good options. I'm guessing I won't actually have much money to spend, since I'm going to dragoncon in the fall and that is a money eater. But perhaps I can find a way to do some of these things on the cheap (eating ice cream, certainly, wouldn't be a bank buster). :)

I know how Zoe feels about thunderstorms, and thankfully, we haven't had many lately (and I was at work while we did, so was distracted).

Good luck thinking of fun things to do on your vacation days. I'd drag you off to Kennywood for a day if I were close enough, but I don't think it is going to happen.
