I have a plan for my D*C costume. This plan largely involves me losing my mind.

I have patterns. I have some fabric (8 yrds of off-white bridal jacquard, 8 yrds of buttercup yellow broadcloth, 2.5 yrds of cream silky something, 2 yds of white felt backing) for the dress. I still need a lot of things for the dress, but I have to actually look at the pattern and figure out what.

I still need everything for the corset and shift.

I still need grey lightweight fabric and some sort of pattern for the veil

I still need shoes.

I still need a parasol.

I still need a sewing machine.

I have slightly less than three months to pull off this insanity.

*rubs hands together eagerly* Oh yeah, let's get it on!

you can probably mock up something simple for the veil. They really didn't look like much other than a piece of fabric. Do you have anything/enough left over from the cat nun veils? I have a pretty big piece of that fabric; might be able to do something with it.

ETA: Rosanna has a pair of button-up old fashioned boots. I think I'm just going to use the boots I used for Fe'Tor's sister. Not historically accurate, but they should look okay at a glance and I'm not planning on them being seen.

EATA: You know, we might just need only one parasol. Which I just got. Rosanna hardly ever uses it except in that one scene. Though maybe for the parade we'd want two?

(last edit): I see what you mean about the veils-- they are grayer than I remembered. Probably require more than the sheer white color that we used for the cat nuns.

for the veil you might be able to get away with a curtain or something from good will if we can find the right color. It would probably be cheaper than buying new fabric for it, as long as it would wash up well.

Unless the weather is atypical, we'll probably both want parasols - any little relief from sun will be welcome during the parade in such heavy dresses.

The show gives a really good glimpse of Rosanna's boots. Sadly not the same for the girls. I'm guessing some sort of light grey or tan boot of relatively similar style. I may buy something, or make due with the shoes I bought for the cat nun costume, or try to improvise something else.

That is a huge amount of fabric to cloth little you. What are you planning to do? I probably won't know if you tell me character since I am illiterate about most of your characters.

As many projects as I've undertaken, it's pretty silly that I haven't bought a sewing machine before now.

Since the wearing of the costume lasts for such a short amount of time, it wouldn't be a very good usage of time and money if I didn't enjoy the doing as well, lol.
