Report from Comic Con part two

Well, I only have a short time but I want to set my thoughts down before I forget everything. The day started off early. I put on my Farscape costume and set off to the Convention Center bright and early, around 8:40. After a few detours in search of an ATM (this reminds me of an anecdote - David Wenham was talking about something and he said something about something they had in Australia, but he didn't know what we called it, an ATM and everyone laughed and shouted out that we call it the same thing) I reached the convention center just shortly after nine. Couldn't find the people I was supposed to meet, of course. I haven't had much luck with that this weekend. So I went to the room where the Lost panel was supposed to be held. Got a great seat, third row center. A few minutes later, someone came in and announced that the room had been changed to one across the center. Everyone jumped up and began running like mad running things across the hall. Once we got in line at the new room, I found out that Dom was doing autographs and that you had to get tickets from the Inkwells booth downstairs. Didn't get a ticket but did meet some very nice people who saved me a seat while I attempted to get a ticket.
The Lost panel was interesting. The show has some potential. I'm not sure how it's going to go, but I will definitely watch it. There were some good questions and some very stupid ones, such as "Can I come up and get your autographs?" after everyone has been told to not ask for personal favors.
As soon as the panel was over, I headed down to the New Line Cinema booth for the autograph signing with Billy Boyd and David Wenham. That was a disastrously poorly planned event and I felt terrible for everyone who waited there all morning, forgoing other panels and then didn't get an autograph. Originally, they were just going to have people line up and sign until they decided to stop, but there were far too many people. So they were made to give out tickets. They only had 360 tickets and it was a free-for-all getting them. Luckily I was one of the few who managed to get one, so that meant standing in line for several hours waiting for my autograph. Even then, they didn't have an organized line and people were just milling about trying to figure out where they were supposed to be. Finally, they got us all sorted out and then it got better. I met several lovely people, including three sisters in full hobbit regalia who had been trying to get autographs at Comic Con unsuccessfully for several years. This year, they failed to get tickets and several strangers gave up their tickets so these three could get autographs. They were a little overwhelmed by the kindness.
The organizers were hustling us through very quickly so I didn't really get a chance to talk to David or Billy, but did get their autographs: David's for a friend and Billy's on a beautiful parchment map of middle earth. Then off for the Farscape panel (the whole reason for going to Comic Con in the first place) only missing the first third of it. It was awesome but I will post more details about that on my Farscape journal.
All in all it was a great day and a great weekend!
