I haven't watched so much TV in a very long time. I've been working my way through Dark Angel, Season One, this past week and finished it yesterday morning. It was great fun revisiting an old favorite, and now I'll have to acquire Season Two. I know the second season wasn't as good as the first, but I still want to get it.

[livejournal.com profile] eve11 lent me her copy of Buffy Season One and I spent the weekend watching it. My head is aching a bit and between the two shows my mind is spinning with conspiracy theories and dark, evil plots. *bg*

I love the Master. He's such a campy, melodramatic villian, full of archvillian posturing and over the top lines. I was a little disappointed to see him killed in the last ep. I suppose they could only sustain his 'trapped at the nexus of the hellmouth' storyline for so long without either freeing or killing him, but still, I think I'll miss him.

It was interesting, watching two shows with teenage superamped females as the lead character. In all, I have to say I prefer Max to Buffy. I'm not a girly girl at all, and sometimes Buffy's dumb blonde routine gets a little painful, whereas Max is not only a tough chick but very smart as well. I can sympathize much more easily with Max's perplexity over why she should paint her nails, and her gasp of surprised horror when she unexpectedly came upon Original Cindy giving herself a facial. However, they are both reluctant superheroes and it's fun to watch them struggle to accept their roles. I also found it interesting to note that the season finale for both shows ended with the girl getting dead and then brought back to life. Can't be a decent scifi show without the lead character dying once in a while, I suppose.

I spent several hours working on my boots this afternoon and I'm making steady progress, but I've come to a bit of a sticky part. I've got the leg all sorted out and I've got a pretty good frame for the foot, but I am struggling to figure out how to make the pattern for the vinyl to wrap around the shoe frame, and how to attach that to the leg. Any suggestions would be welcome.

*waits patiently for someone to offer up an idea*

How true! Nothing like a little revivification to get out of fatal plot corners, eh? I loved Dark Angel while it was on, and was disappointed that it's run ended so soon, even though it never really got back to Season 1 form. But Buffy I just could never get into.

Next time I get out your way, we'll have to have a Dark Angel fest.
