Dear Winter,

I don't mind the cold. Really, I don't. I have a lovely warm coat with all the fixins to keep me warm and snuggly. But if you could possibly try not snowing, just for a day or two, that would be great! I know we don't have all that much snow on the ground, compared to places that got truly dumped on, but I have to walk to work through all that snow, most of it unshoveled. And that just means that I'm already exhausted and cranky before I even clock in for work. Now, I'm trying *not* to be a cranky pessimist and this just doesn't help.

So, to sum up, just give us a day or two of no snow so everyone can get their sidewalks cleared and I'll be back to loving you again. Mkay?

Just in case Winter does not respond to your plea (being the temperamental B that she is), perhaps you should visualize all the fat cells fleeing your body and being replaced by super-oxygen-carrying blood cells in response to all that exercise. Take that, Winter!

there was a story on the news here last night about municipalities (including the big one) taking action against people who don't shovel their walks and also those who put trash cans, chairs or whatever in the street to hold the parking spaces they have shoveled out. Sort of opposites but both born out of the snowfall.
