auntiemeeshThis morning I went to a baby shower for one of my co-teachers. It was a small gathering of teachers and the parents of a few of our former kids (with said kids in tow). We painted flower pots and baby onesies (I passed on the pot, but made a pair of baby footprints for the onesie).
I utterly failed to get to an appropriate store to buy a gift, but one of my other co-teachers graciously picked a few things up for me. Not as nice as being able to pick things out personally, but far better than not having anything to offer. To compensate, I hand-made her card.
Not at all fancy, but created with love.
Maggie's mom was at the party and came by for a visit with her girl afterwards. Maggie is always so happy to see her, and so excited to have someone who is willing to sit down and do nothing but pet her for forty-five minutes. Maggie has probably another two or two-and-a-half months with us before her mom reclaims her. We're all going to miss her, but I suspect she'll miss Mal and Zoe more. She's gotten pretty used to having other cats around to play with.
